Jim Yeager

 

Jim started Search & Rescue with the National Ski Patrol from 1976 to 1979, and that was followed by college and a career in the military. In 1993, he worked Search & Rescue for Northern Iraq as JSOTF Operations Chief. In 1996, he began working with Search Dog Network in Colorado training his first Air Scent dog, Flash. In 1997, he retired from the military and moved to College Station, Texas.

In 1997, Jim joined Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) as a Canine Search Specialist, followed by Logistics Specialist, and he is currently a Search Team Manager on the Blue Team.

Between Search Dog Network and TX-TF 1 he has deployed on over 50 missions including:

  • Shuttle Columbia
  • Hurricane Katrina
  • Hurricane Rita
  • Hurricane Ike

  • NASAR Coordinator Disaster Canine Responder since 2005

He works for TEEX Urban Search & Rescue Division where he is a Training Manager for the Search & Rescue training in Disaster City®.
