Eva Stump

Eva Stump was born and raised in Southern Indiana.  She enlisted in the United States Marine Corps while still in high school, on the delayed entry program, and went to Marine Corps Bootcamp right after graduating high school.  She was a Military Policewoman (MP), Military Working Dog (MWD) Handler: K9 MP. After being stationed in Okinawa, Japan for the first year in the Fleet, Eva spent the rest of her enlistment at the now closed, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) El Toro, in Irvine, California, where she was afforded the opportunity to do joint military operations with the United States Secret Service and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office.  Eva has handled both narcotics and explosives certified military working dogs. All of the military working dogs under the military police were patrol certified in aggression as well.  Eva was honorably discharged from the USMC in November 1999.

After spending a few years in California after her discharge from the Marines, Eva came to reside in College Station, Texas with her family in March 2006.  Eva learned about Search Dog Network in November 2019, where she attended her first SDN training session.  In January 2020, Eva became a ground team member and is assisting with Flanker/Navigator and Base Operations duties.  Since joining SDN she has participated in the Brazos Valley Search and Rescue Exercise with participants from the surrounding areas and she has deployed on searches in Panola County, Limestone County, and Huntsville.
